Ministries
The ministries of Williams AME Church provide two specific means to mature and expand the body of Christ. The first is to provide a service-based ministry to serve the needs of our community and joining congregants. The second is to provide ministry-based opportunities for those developing believers seeking to serve the community, according to the mandates set forth by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and those set forth in the Doctrine and Discipline of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Below are a list of ministries that form the overall ministry of Williams AME Church.
The administrative offices of the church provide the support for all of our "front line" ministries. Comprised mostly of boards, auxiliaries, and commissions, the administration is the heart and soul of the operation of the church. The overall goal is to ensure the spiritual and financial strength of the church.
The ultimate purpose of Christian Education is the business of spiritual formation; ensuring every member matures in the faith so Christ is formed in us. Christian Education is that ministry of the church which undergirds and supports all other ministries of the church.
The Sons of Allen is the Men's Ministry of Williams AME Church. All men beyond the age of 25 will be enrolled into this ministry upon becomg a member of the church. This ministry is established with the purpose of encouraging men to become involved in helping other men find Christ in their lives.
The Women's Missionary Society of Williams AME Church is not a women's ministry, but was formed by women over 180 years ago with the purpose of fostering missionary activities of the local church, area, and conference.
The Worship Arts Ministry seeks to create an atmosphere of worship to God and minister the powerful and life changing message of the Gospel to the hearts of all people. We use the gifts of music, liturgical dance and drama to invoke the manifestation of the presence of God, encouraging praise and worship.
The Young People's Division (commonly known as YPD) is the youth ministry/movement that is especially tailored for the youth. The YPD of Williams AME Church strive to learn about God, love the Lord Jesus, live with humility, and lead by example.
